More articles!

I have 25 more articles mostly from the New York Times and Time Magazine to add. There is an interview from 1974 amongst the New York Times pieces, that is really interesting. I've read a lot of the interviews now and I'm really struck by how open Jack was. Now days most actors/actresses etc have a small army of people defining what questions can be asked and all the answers sound so homogenised. Celebrity interviews have become the equivalent of a Miss Universe pageant with them all giving answers that just sound like variations on "I want world peace".

In the New York Times article Jack is asked if anything is off-limits and he simply replied "Nothings out of bounds, you give it your best shot and I'll give it mine". In the course of the interview it is also made very clear that he has been smoking Pot. Now days I suspect that a small flock of suits would whirl into damage-control at the mere hint their star client is a recreational drug-user appearing in the NY Times.

Is this because of Political Correctness? Is it turning us into people who are scared to be honest with each other about anything. We expect the world to be so intolerant of any behaviour that strays outside of the strict guidelines? Maybe we all need image management now, just to survive.

Sorry, I'm rambling. I just wanted to say it was freakin' awesome to read an honest unvarnished interview. Oh and yeah the 1st is cool by me too. -- Tom
