As promised, here are the first of the original wallpapers inspired by our Magazine and AFI Tribute book, scans. The first two wallpapers are suitable for both 800x600 and 1024 x 768 resolution screens (as the larger screens will re-size them) and the third and fourth wallpapers are for 1024 x 768 resolution screens.

To select a wallpaper just click on the thumbnail above and then right click on the displayed image and select set as Background. To see the full wallpaper in all it's glory, set your task bar to auto hide which means it will only show when you move your cursor to the task bar area, when you move your cursor away it will be automatically hidden.... which is why it's called auto hide...logical aint it -- Tom

1984 Interview Magazine

Tom Again. Here's another great interview with Jack. This time from the August 1984 Interview Magazine. Jacks talks about his love of acting, his early work and Garrett Breedlove, the character he won his second Oscar for portraying, in Terms of Endearment. He also talks about the cost of being candid in interviews which I thought was interesting.

The Departed Update

Tom here, I have been surfing around looking for news on The Departed. Word at the Boston Herald is that the film is over schedule and budget but movie-making is an art, and art isn't always on time! They have also suggested that Jack will be returning to the set for some re-shoots.

Aint it cool news has a very interesting script review - but be warned it contains spoilers about the movies plot but if (like me) you don't mind that then click here to read it There is also a script review up over at Dark Horizon and also one at The Tuesday Night Movie Club There is a lot of interest in this film!

I found the following anecdote over at Contact music view it here

There are some cool hi-res pics of Jack on the set for you to check out here

Also check out gallery 1 and gallery 2 for some pics of Jack and his co-stars on the set and don't forget our own Departed gallery here.

1984 Rolling Stone Interview

I'm slowly making my way through the Rolling Stone back issues! I love their interviews with Jack because they are so in-depth and you get a lot of insight from the questions asked that you don't get with some magazines. Click here to view the 1984 Interview. This means we now have all four of the interviews Jack gave Rolling Stone on the site. There was also an article about Jack in the December 1975 issue of Rolling Stone. I'm still tracking this down, if anyone has a copy please let us know, otherwise I'll track it down on e-bay and post it soon.

On another random note - The mighty All Blacks play the Springboks tonight to decide the Tri-Nations (Rugby Union for those unlucky enough not to be familiar with the game) GO BLACKS!!!!!

1996 GQ Interview

The girls have been doing all the heavy-lifting lately so I thought I better get in on the act and post something. It sure beats studying for my statistics test...everything does. Here is an interview with Jack from 96 where he bravely wades into the gender debate. Perilous ground, man. Like Wendy said before make sure you view the scans full size. I am going to make some wallpapers from the biggest scans. I'll add them to the site over the weekend. Keep your powder dry -- Tom

1981 Rolling Stone Interview

I have scanned the text of the Jack Nicholson Interview, that appeared in the April 16, 1981 Rolling Stone Magazine, to go with the picture of Jack from that issue, which was kindly sent to us by a fan, Keith from Scotland. Thanks Keith! Some browsers will automatically re-size the scans to fit your screen, so make sure you have the scans at full size so that you can read the text. Click here to view the Interview. We will be posting more scans soon.

Audio of Radio Interview

I the Easy Rider Q & A I found a little while ago so I started searching around to see if I could find another Interview! The following clip is from a radio interview Jack did along with Bob Rafelson in 1974. Click here to listen. The 14 minute clip includes Jack talking about his early films, his politics and Head amongst other things! You will need Real Player to listen to it. It's a great interview. Enjoy.

Trailers

If you happen to be looking for Trailers for any of Jack's films especially some of the older films such as Hell's Angels on Wheels or Flight to Fury, one of the best places for harder to find trailers is Video Detective. They have 38 trailers for Jack Nicholson films, including a trailer for a kids Video that Jack did called Rabbits Ears. The trailer includes a tiny snippet of Jack reading "How the Camel got his Hump". I really enjoyed checking out the handful of things I don't already have in my DVD collection and it was really helpful for deciding what I want to get next (I want to get everything but I can't!) We will be putting all the trailers into the film section when it is finished but for now here is a good place to check out!

Awards Gallery

I have just finished the Awards gallery and it's all ready for upload. It was tough deciding what to put in. We might expand on it down the track but it's a start. It's great to see that Jack has had so much recognition. He more than deserves it but I really think he should have gotten the Oscar for About Schmidt. Adrien Brody wasn't in the same Universe. Which is not to say The Pianist wasn't a good movie or that Brody didn't do a good job, he did. It's just that Jack Nicholson was absolutely brilliant in About Schmidt. Oh well.

An un-melted Tom.
