More magazine scans

I have just added more than 30 new magazine scans of Jack Nicholson to the Miscellaneous Magazine Scans Gallery. These come from a variety of sources and some of them are just fabulous. Most of these are from a collection of clippings sent to us by a fan of Jacks in the UK - Ian - so a big thanks Ian! I hope you all enjoy them and I should have some more later in the week! -- Sara

The Passenger DVD out March 14!

Exciting news about The Passenger DVD out on March 14th!

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a new release of The Passenger which stars Jack Nicholson and Maria Schneider. Originally released in 1975, the film is a suspenseful and haunting portrait of a drained journalist whose deliverance is an identity exchange with a dead man. The disc will be available to own from the 14th March, priced at around $24.96. Extras on this one will include an audio commentary with Jack Nicholson (Yay!!), a second commentary with Wim Wenders (director of Paris, Texas & Wings of Desire), An Evening at the Academy Featurette, and an interview with writer Mark Peploe and Maria Schneider - details courtesy of DVD Active follow the link to view the cover art!

For background info on the Evening at the Academy check the October post about the event which includes details and photos! I am looking forward to seeing the featurette. For background on The Passenger - including the trailer, movie stills and reviews - please check out our special The Passenger Section

On an unrelated note - Jack attended the funeral of Chris Penn, the younger brother of Sean Penn yesterday. The papparazzi were at the funeral and a scuffle broke out because Sean Penn wanted the ceremony to be private. It was reported that Mark Ruffalo was able to remove the offending photographers film but sadly, I have seen today on one of the photo sites I go too, that there are stalkerazzi pics from the funeral available and online. This is beyond disgusting. The Penn family have lost a loved one and should be allowed to grieve at such a time, in privacy. I am a huge Jack fan but I have no desire to see photos of him obtained in this way, and I certainly won't put them on this site. I ask that if the photos are published by any magazines that you don't buy those magazines, perhaps if these people didn't have a market for such obtrusive pictures they might not take them and instead learn to show some respect. Ok rant over!

Blood and Wine on DVD

Well Christmas has come late this year folks! If like us you love Jack's DVD commentaries on Something's Gotta Give and As Good As It Gets, you'll be excited to know that Blood and Wine is being officially released on Region 1 DVD this week! It has been possible to get no frills transfers on DVD for Region 2 and 4 but now (finally!) the movie is being released in the US Feb 7 and this means the DVD will include many extras

-> Commentary with Bob Rafelson
-> Scene Specific Commentary with Jack Nicholson, Steven Dorf and Michael Caine
-> Making of Featurette: Genesis & The Characters
-> The Job of Acting: On Jack Nicholson, On Michael Caine, & On Bob Rafelson
-> Bob and Jack: A Life-Long Dialogue
-> Deleted Scenes
-> Theatrical Trailer
-> Black Widow Trailer

Click on the thumbail (above left) to view the artwork. If we hear of it coming out in other Region formats we'll let you know but this could be all the excuse you need to get a multi-region player or if you have a DVD drive on your PC you can get software to make your drive play all regions! Hey where there's a will there's a way!! For further details check out the New York Times DVD Review -- Sara
