The Departed on Yahoo


Hi everyone *waves* High quality quicktime versions of The Departed movie trailer (without the annoying Entertainment Tonight voiceover!) are now available on Yahoo. Go check it out! Can I just have a "fangirl" moment and say - his voice, his voice, it's so damn cool at the beginning and at the end!!! Loving Jack Nicholson as Frank Costello - woot! - ok I'm done now :-)

I've made some screen captures from the Quicktime trailer. If anyone wants to use these pictures or the ones in The Departed Gallery to create icons or wallpapers, that would be great. The Departed Trailer

A huge thank you to Marciesleo at the Totally Unnecessary Departed Board She has kindly made a clip of the full trailer that aired on Entertainment Tonight. It can be viewed here just click on this link and then click on the departedex.wmv and choose whether to save or open. We hope to see a high definition version surface on Apple within the week!

The trailer looks terriffic, the music, as is characteristic of Scorsese films, brings an added dimension and Jack in my humble opinion has the best line! So watch it, enjoy it and post a comment and let us know what you think -- Sara

The Departed Movie Teaser

Set your video or dvd recorders! Finally, let me just say f i n a l l y, The Departed Trailer is being released, ET showed a 30 second teaser tonight and will air the full trailer tomorrow, July 27th! Megan a fan of Jacks has sent the teaser to us, so a huge thank you to Megan for sharing as I was dying to see this and am looking forward to the trailer and of course the movie more than ever! You can view it here, you will need Flash 8 to view it. Hopefully the full trailer will be available online soon after. So get out those tapes, position your favorite comfy chair and get ready for The Departed trailer. I think Jack is going to be amazing as Costello. -- Tom

More Holiday snaps of Happy Jack!

I have just added 20 more photos of Jack on his holiday in St Tropez to the latest Photos Gallery. His daughter, Lorraine Nicholson can also be seen in many of the photos. It seems very very unlikely that Jack is on holiday with Lara Flynn Boyle at all. She does not appear in either of the sets of holiday photos that were taken this week and apart from one photo which might well be from 2000 (as it is quite similar to some taken then even though several news agencies have suggested it's new), she has not been seen with Jack, so for those of you who did not like the rumours that circulated earlier in the week, I think you can relax :-) Sara

Jack and Lara?

Ooh la la. Jack Nicholson has been photographed holidaying in St Tropez with his former flame Ms Lara Flynn Boyle. The question all the gossip columns are now asking is, are they back together or are they "just friends"? I hope that whether they are or aren't an item, they are having a nice holiday and enjoying themselves, after all life is short! Thanks to Olya for the heads up on this news! Tom posted last week that The Departed Trailer would be shown with The Lady in the Water but the latest update on the trailer is that it has been removed from all of The Lady in the Water prints and will now go out with Miami Vice which opens next week. I am still checking regularly for the poster or production stills, but the marketing activity surrounding The Departed is getting off to a fairly slow start... but all good things come to those who wait!! -- Sara

New Photos of Jack Nicholson

Hi folks! Tom again - Jack was spotted coming out of the Ivy Restaurant a few days back and you can see the photos here. I'd post them but they have disclaimers on the site that suggest if you so much as re-display there photos, they will arrange for a one way ticket to hell. I'm hoping this link works but if it doesn't then the photos are on page 5 - they have disabled everything so that I'm not able to grab a short cut very easily. Anyhoo, after dinner Jack headed off to the notorious London Club Stringfellows and word on the street is, that he engaged in a spot of Pole dancing! Always the entertainer :-) Hope you all have a good weekend, spare a prayer for those of us up to our necks in study notes.

Jack Nicholson in London

Just a quick update, as we have exams (yuk!) but I have just spotted this Daily Mail article about Jack's trip to London with his daughter Lorraine and wanted to post it. Also Will over at The Totally unnecessary Departed Board has found out that The Departed trailer will debut July 21st in cinemas, as it will be shown with the movie Lady in the Water. I'm sure it will appear online and/or on entertainment channels such as Extra or Access Hollywood about this time. Thanks Will, counting down those 10 days -- Tom

Reds out on DVD Oct 3

Exciting news for Jack Nicholson fans, the long awaited release of the film Reds on DVD has finally been confirmed by Paramount. A Region 1 Special 25th Anniversary Edition DVD will be released on October 3rd. Paramount have not detailed what the special features will be but as it will be a 2 disc set, we are looking forward to hearing what the extras will be. They have sent an early copy of the artwork but it is not yet finalised - but I am sure the final will be similar to this. To view a large version of the artwork just click on the thumbnail at left. The UK release date for Jack Nicholson's upcoming movie The Departed has been confirmed as Nov 10 (for other release dates see the Departed Release Date news post below), we will keep an eye out for any info regarding the UK film premiere and whether Jack Nicholson will attend. There was early word of the world-wide premiere being held in Hong Kong and also in Boston nothing set in stone as yet. -- Sara

Happy Birthday to us!

Jack Nicholson (dot) org has been online for a year! Somehow it feels much longer lol Seriously, we have really enjoyed setting up this site about our favorite actor and we hope fans visiting the site have enjoyed the photos, interviews and other things we have added. To celebrate I thought I would add a few more scans and photos this week, to start off here is a little feature on Jack Nicholson's star sign that ran in the May, 1979 issue of Playgirl! When I tracked down the issue of Playgirl that Jack was in I must admit I was hoping for a little less clothing - perhaps Jack au naturelle with just one Oscar statue positioned "tastefully" - oh well the photos included in the piece are still cute if none too revealing! click on the pictures below to view -- Sara
