Jack Nicholson has been busy!

Well in the last couple of days Jack Nicholson has been talking about sex, one of his favorite things and fleeing, along with his The Departed co-star Leonardo Dicaprio, from a Bobcat, not one of his favorite things. For more on the sex click here and for more on how Leo and Jack came to be doing the 100 yard dash go here. Have a great, wild-life free day folks and stay safe out there! -- Sara

New Jack Nicholson Interview

There's a new, very wicked. very cool, interview with Jack over at New York Metro.com. They are previewing the movie line-up for Fall and Jack talks a little about The Departed, it sounds like he has had a lot of fun collaborating on this with Martin Scorsese and "pushing the envelope". I know I'm looking forward to Jack unleashing the evil Frank Costello -- Tom

New Jack Nicholson Photos

Happy Friday! the weekend is almost here and we have new photos of Jack Nicholson, which I've added to the Latest Photos of Jack Nicholson Gallery. The photos are from the Hollywood Foreign Press Associations Annual Installation Luncheon held at th Beverley Hills Hotel today. The Hollywood Foreign Press hand out over 1 million dollars in grants to film schools and non-profit organisations at the annual event. Jack attended on behalf of The Film Foundation, here's the details and NO sadly Jack did not moon anyone. Perhaps he's saving that for the Golden Globes, which are scheduled for Jan 15, 2007.

The official Movie Poster

At last the movie poster is out! click here to view a hi-res version over at movieweb. It's looking good. I like the font and the images used.

They've updated the official site with the movie poster - I miss the old skyline graphic though, I quite liked that and the blues used - anyway - and with new photos of the cast and of filming, including 1 or 2 new ones of Jack. We'll post when larger ones become available online. I better go add the poster to the film section now.

On a separate note, Jack has been mentioned as scheduled to attend Tony Bennet's 80th Birthday Gala in November, it will be a concert to raise money for the Hole in the Wall camps a charity that Jack Nicholson has worked with before. The celebrity golf event Jack hosted last year was for the same charity which was set up originally by Paul Newman and is to help children with debilitating diseases have a better quality of life. New 'The Departed' Pics!

Click the picture to view full-size

Entertainment Weekly included the above photo in a piece on the 10 movies they are most looking forward to seeing this fall! The Departed entry:
6 The Departed

RELEASE DATE Oct. 6

WHY WE CAN'T WAIT Martin Scorsese and gangsters? Say no more.

THE PREMISE Dueling moles -- a Mobster in the Boston police department (Matt Damon), and a cop in a Boston crime syndicate (Leonardo DiCaprio) -- try to ferret each other out.

SOURCE The Hong Kong hit Infernal Affairs (2002)

THE BACKSTORY After Gangs of New York and The Aviator, Scorsese and DiCaprio have become such a team that Warner Bros. pitched them both the project at the same time. ''We both loved it and said, 'Let's do this,''' DiCaprio says.

BURNING QUESTION Is the material too pulpy to earn Scorsese his long-awaited Oscar?

COME FOR Jack Nicholson, as an unpredictable Mob boss

STAY FOR Vera Farmiga, as a police shrink who romances both Damon and DiCaprio
You can view the Entertainment Weekly preview here. There are also some fabulous new stills here

Thanks to Will at The Totally Unnecessary Departed Board for the heads up!

Official website now active

Jack Nicholson's upcoming movie
The official site for The Departed movie is now online but there isn't actually anything new on the site as yet, sorry! Except for a very cool graphic (part of which is shown above) which might be an indicator of what the final movie poster will look like.

I wanted to give a shout out to Marcie at the Heart of Destiny site, a fansite for Leo Di Caprio, Jack's co-star in The Departed. She has kindly created some buttons for the site which I hugely appreciate as mine were very lame :-) These are much better! Thanks Marcie.

Finally, it was reported in an article in The Times that Jack Nicholson, is going to demolish Marlon Brando's house which he bought shortly after Brando passed on. He is going to plant frangipani in it's place as a tribute to Brando, who named the simple bungalow home, Frangipani, after the flower. I know Jack held Brando in very high esteem (you can read the tribute he wrote to him that appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine here.) and I suspect that Brando would approve of having the space given back to nature. -- Sara

The Departed UK release date

The UK release date for The Departed film has changed from November 10th to October 6th. This means the movie will open on the same day as it hits cinemas in the US. This definitely increases the chance of a UK movie premiere with a possibility that Jack Nicholson could be in attendance. Now, if your a British fan, I don't want to get your hopes up, this is just speculation at this time, but here's hoping and I will post as soon as I hear more details about plans for the film's premieres. -- Sara

Jack Nicholson Magazine

Jack NIcholson and Leonardo Di CaprioThis month's Infocus Magazine has Jack Nicholson in a scene from his upcoming film The Departed with his co-star Leonardo Di Caprio, on the cover. Unfortunately the picture is not new and the article is short. Still it's a sign that the gears over at Warner Bros might be clicking (ever so slowly) into action! Thanks to Will at The Totally Unnecessary Departed Board for posting this along with links to each of the high definition movie-trailers which lets you download them if you wish. 480 720 1080 Right click on the size you want and then select save target as and hey presto!

I have updated The Departed Screen Captures. they are much clearer now! Have a great week -- Sara

Reds DVD Extras

As I posted previously, Reds will be released on DVD on October 3rd and I now have some info on the Extras that will be included on the 25th Anniversary 2 Disc DVD Set.

Extras: All new interviews with Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson. Featurette - Witness to Reds: The Rising / Komrades / Testimonials / The March / Revolution / Propaganda.

The DVD bonus material also includes the theatrical trailer but somewhat surprisingly, no word of a commentary and no mention of an interview with Diane Keaton. So hopefully this information is not complete and we will hear of additional details closer to the release date as hopefully there will be extra...extras! -- Sara

Wanna link up?

I was recently asked for a button for linking to this site - which got me to thinking how great it would be if any of our visitors with sites or blogs or forums could spread the word about this site to other Jack Nicholson fans. If you want to that is - so here's a couple of buttons for linking back to Jack Nicholson Unofficial fansite - or even just a teensy weensy text link would be great, but if none of this applies to you, then ummm sorry just ignore me! -- Sara
