For Your Consideration The Departed

Grif, a Jack fan, has posted a link to a clip of the "Rat-face" scene which was a highlight of The Departed and you can view it on You Tube. Thanks Grif!

The first of the For Your Consideration Ads for The Departed have started appearing and I will ad these to the Departed Gallery as they come out. The first 3 can be viewed here and are courtesy of a great site Oscarwatch which is a handy site to visit for the latest award season predictions from a variety of sources. Click to enlarge

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman

Hi everyone *waves* Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman are set to co-star in The Bucket List which begins filming mid-December but last night they were courtside at the Lakers game. You can click on the photos to enlarge, the fourth picture is one I missed from November 19th, when a few of the Chicago Bulls had their photo taken with Jack.

Jack Nicholson Movie Stills

Jack Nicholson Movie StillsA couple of months ago we had some fabulous movie stills from Jack Nicholson's early films donated to the site by a very kind fan - Thanks Natalie! She has also donated some fabulous stills and publicity shots from Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Postman Always Rings Twice. I had seen some of these before but not this size or quality so we really appreciate her sharing these with us! I have added all of the movie stills to a special photo gallery it's over two pages and the new photos added today are on Page 1 with the photos I added previously being on page 2, if you haven't seen those do make sure you check them out. The second page includes a still from Studs Lonigan that is among my all time favorites!

Jack Nicholson's latest film The Departed has earnt $111 million at the US box office and is on track to be a strong contender this awards season. Golden Globe nominations will be announced on the morning of December 14. Just a few days after filming on Jack's next project The Bucket List is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles. Hope all the US fans had a great thanksgiving! -- Sara

Miss Golden Globe

Lorraine Nicholson Miss Golden GlobeJack Nicholson's youngest daughter Lorraine Nicholson was named Miss Golden Globe last week. She will assist with the ceremony which is due to be held January 15th, 2007. Details here. Jack Nicholson is almost certain to be a nominee for Best Supporting Actor for The Departed and who knows Lorraine may be able to be on stage to pass over the Golden Globe if her father wins, that would be lovely - I'm a sucker for those moments! In keeping with this honor I thought it was time we created a photo gallery for Lorraine who has had small roles in Click, The Princess Diaries 2 and appeared briefly in Something's Gotta Give. -- Sara

Jack Nicholson's Oscar season begins

Warner Bros Official Awards site has gone live. You can visit The Departed page here and you will see that WB are going to be campaigning for Jack Nicholson to be nominated in the Best Supporting Actor Catergory. We should start to see For Your Consideration Ads soon. I think Jack's main competition is shaping up to be Brad Pitt for Babel. However, there are rumors that Eddie Murphy may also be a contender for Dream Girls - time will tell! Personally I would love to see Jack get Oscar number 4 for his sensational performance as Costello.

Jack Nicholson and Sean Penn

I have added a few photos to the Latest photos gallery of Jack Nicholson with his good friend Sean Penn, who directed him in The Pledge and The Crossing Guard, at last nights game, where the Lakers lost to the Pistons, unfortunately! I wonder if they are considering collaborating again, it would be great if they were!

New photos of Jack Nicholson

Jack Nicholson The Departed Press ConferenceJack Nicholson attended a Press Conference for The Departed which opened October 6, yesterday November 1st at the Four Seasons Hotel. We have photos from the conference of Jack looking very well. As you will recall Jack couldn't participate in some of the publicity for The Departed when it opened because he was unwell and had to have a minor surgical procedure. You will see in the photos that Jack has a "90% shave" which actually looks very cute but I imagine this will be because he can't shave the part of his jaw area where he has had the stitches, as yet! It's good to see him looking better and when you see these photos you realise that he really did have quite a swollen neck at the time of The Premiere as there's quite a marked difference between the pictures, what a trooper he was to come out for The Premiere at all! I have been looking high and low for comments from the press conference but so far - nothing - it may be embargoed. We'll post them as soon as we can. -- Sara
