More For Your Consideration Ads

Here are four more For Your consideration Ads featuring Jack Nicholson and The Departed. The scanning process has caused some yellowing but I have hardcopies on the way and will re-scan and load them into a gallery next month. I especially like the photo of Jack Nicholson and Martin Scorsese on the set!

Happy Holidays

A very kind fan of Jack's, Romy, recently shared a fabulous unabridged Jack Nicholson interview with us and has now sent us scans of the photos by Lord Snowdon that appeared in the german magazine Suddeutsche Zeitung with the original abridged version of the interview. I am away on my Christmas break and so I don't have access to several of the software packages I use to work with photos at the moment, so I will post the first four and will post the rest in a gallery as soon as I can! These are amongst the best portraits of Jack Nicholson ever photographed. Thanks very much Romy for sharing these!

Here's wishing Jack Nicholson and his family and all of you the very best of the season. Have a cool Yule! -- Sara

Jack Nicholson and John McEnroe!

Jack Nicholson and John McEnroe

Ok, perhaps I need to up my medication, or perhaps I've spent too much time at the Mall listening to Jingle Bells over and over but I have to say it really appeals to my sense of humor that Mr. "You can not be serious" and Mr. "You can't handle the truth" were sitting together last night at the Lakers game. I wonder if the referee was feeeling really, really nervous!! Click the photo to view full size!

A Xmas gift for Jack Nicholson fans!

Jack Nicholson CoverHi everyone *waves* thanks to a wonderful fan of Jack's, Romy, we have added an incredible (and I don't use that term lightly!) interview with Jack Nicholson to the site. Jack Nicholson was interviewed by his friend Peter Bogdanovich in August and an unabridged version of the shorter version published in Suddeutsche Zeitung Magazin is now available in english. This interview is really in-depth and covers Jack Nicholson's movie career from the very beginning to the present. This may be the most comprehensive interview with Jack Nicholson ever published, if not it is certainly the most interesting insight into his career that I have personally seen since the Interview that appeared in Film Comment in 1985. The interview spans 11 pages and I have taken the liberty of adding photos that were not included with the abridged original. I really enjoyed this article and I hope you will too.

I would like to wish everyone who visits this site a joyous holiday season, especially the regulars. Thanks again to Will, Natalie, Grif, Brum, Megan, Romy and Sam over at Cesc Fabregas fansite, who contributed to the site this year, your assistance is really appreciated. The number of visitors to the site has literally tripled in the last five months with more than 30,000 individuals from every corner of the globe using the site each month. This has meant I've had to add more advertising and I do apologise for this and I hope you don't find it too intrusive but on a positive note this has enabled us to upgrade the site and next year we will be further expanding the film section and adding more video and audio media. Happy Holidays! -- Sara

Jack Nicholson in fine voice

Well it seems Jack Nicholson is fully recovered from his Salivary Gland surgery. One of the reporters in attendance at the Press conference Jack gave November 1st, commented on how hoarse he was but last night at the Lakers v Houston Rockets game, Jack proved beyond any doubt that the vocal chords are in fine fettle and I'm sure the Ref would agree :-) Give'm hell Jack! Photo's of Jack Nicholson "communicating" with the referee - click to enlarge!

Jack Nicholson BFCA nominee

The Departed AdJack Nicholson has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in The Departed, by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. The Departed received 7 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Ensemble. The BFCA is the largest critics group in America and it's choices often foreshadow the Oscar nominations. The awards will be given out at a ceremony on January 20th and highlights will be shown on E! The main competition is thought to come from Dreamgirls in the supporting category and from Letters from Iwo Jima and The Queen in the Best Picture category. Still being nominated is no mean feat given the competition, so congratulations are definitely in order! Full list of all nominees in all categories can be seen here.

I have added an ad thanks to Oscarwatch that Warner Bros have put out to celebrate The Departed's Box Office success and as part of the Best Picture campaign. Click on the thumbnail above to view.

Be in Jack nicholson's next movie!

The chance to be appear as an extra in Jack Nicholson's next movie The Bucket List which has just begun filming is being auctioned by Charity Folks, the auction closes December 13 and all proceeds go to help the charity, People for the American Way. Bidding is already at $5,500 but if you can afford it, I'm sure it would be a great experience and a chance to help a worthy cause.

The Departed Press Conference

At last! Over a month ago I posted photos from a press conference Jack Nicholson gave for The Departed. He had originally been scheduled to attend a press conference for The Departed in October but a health issue prevented him, so a press conference was held in LA in November instead, once Jack Nicholson was feeling better. At the time I was unable to find any of his comments from the press conference but finally today, at last here they are.
