Jack Nicholson Oscar Photos

I would not have picked it as a style that would suit him but he looks good! He's rockin' the chrome dome! Now I will get to work on the video of Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton presenting the Best Picture award. In the meantime you can see a small clip of Jack Nicholson at the Oscars here

First up here is video of Martin Scorsese winning Best Director which was a real high-light of the night including the "bear hug" moment with Jack.

The Departed wins Best Picture!

A great night at the Oscars for The Departed with the film deservedly taking The Best Picture Oscar and it was presented by Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton! A magic moment, I'm just so happy! The ultimate accolade to the fine work done by all involved. Martin Scorsese won Best Director at last and received a wonderful standing ovation from his peers, a tribute to the position of respect he holds in the hearts and minds of so many. I think my favorite moment of the whole night was Jack giving Marty a bear hug backstage after he won! The Departed also garnered Oscars for William Monahan who won for Best Adapted Screenplay and for Thelma Schoonmaker who won in the Best Editing catergory. I'll be back with photos of Jack Nicholson who was sporting "the Kojak" look tonight! One useful side effect of the media interest in Jack's new hair-do, which was necessary for his role as a man dying of terminal cancer in The Bucket List, is that we now have a release month for the film, which according to the San Francisco Chronicle will be in theaters in November. Jack Nicholson will present

Jack Nicholson will be a presenter at tomorrow's Academy Awards ceremony, you can view the full list of presenters online here. USA Today ran the following quote, "The campaigns are ridiculous, and it seems silly to say what art is better than another," says three-time winner Jack Nicholson, who plans to attend Sunday. "But there's still no bigger honor. No one has to twist my arm to show up."

Jack Nicholson always brightens up the night! I will be posting pictures and video shortly after the show airs on ABC. I'm hoping that The Departed will win Best Picture and that Martin Scorsese will be able to collect his long overdue Oscar!

Finally, Jack was spotted courtside at the Lakers with Adam Sandler the other night you can click the picture above for a slightly larger image.

The Departed on DVD today!

To celebrate that The Departed is available on Region 1 DVD today I have updated the site banner thanks to Will, who so kindly helps with all the sites banners. If you are in Europe, you only have 6 days more to wait until the Region 2 DVD is available.

The Departed is available in four flavors! It comes in single and double-disc editions each includes a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, and English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. The only extra on the single-disc will be the theatrical trailer. The two-disc special edition extras include the theatrical trailer, nine deleted scenes with introductions by Martin Scorsese, which includes some great additional footage of Jack Nicholson, a Story of the Boston Mob featurette, and a Creating Criminal Cultures featurette. HD DVD and Blu-ray releases are also available for people who understand the difference and are willing to pay for it... i.e not me. You can read a detailed DVD review online at DVD Talk

Jack Nicholson in Vanity Fair Magazine

For this year's Vanity Fair Hollywood issue, Annie Leibovitz and Michael Roberts have created a film noir masterpiece, Killers Kill, Dead Men Die. The 33 page portfolio can be seen in the March issue and there is a preview on the magazine's site VanityFair.com The video preview finishes with Jack in a shot that seems a little Frank Chambers with a dash of Jake Gittes - what do you think?
