Jack Nicholson's GQ Cover

gq cover

GQ magazine celebrates its 50th anniversary in its October issue with 10 covers! One of the covers is of Jack and features the classic portrait taken by famous British photographer Lord Snowdon above, you can click for a larger version of that photo. The issue names the 50 most stylish men in 50 years. Here is Jack Nicholson's entry -

Jack Nicholson man of styleAbout five years ago, during one of the Yankees’ late-October playoff runs, Jack Nicholson walked into Manhattan’s Pastis restaurant in the middle of the lunch rush. He was dressed in a Sopranos-grade tracksuit, a stiff Yankees cap, and a pair of black shades. The restaurant froze. Jack made his way through the tightly packed dining room and a table of five blonds whipped their necks around to stare. Without breaking stride, Jack cracked a grin and, in that raspy drawl, asked loud enough for more than a few tables to hear, “Ladies! How we doin’?” It was vintage Jack—pervy enough to appreciate their attention, cocky enough to leave them hanging, and smart enough not to let them interrupt his date with a steak sandwich. Not many of us grow up saying we want to be a heavyset divorcé who started losing his hair in his midthirties. But who wouldn’t want to be Jack? All charisma and swagger, he’s a man beyond clothes, trends, and hairdos. He’s a man, period.

All proceeds will go to support the A.F.I.

(Source) Lauren Bacall gave an interview to the Globe and Mail where she described Nicholson as one of the last true, great stars. Aint that the truth.

The Bucket List Trailer!

The Bucket List movie-trailer is online! You can watch the hi-def version at Yahoo! Or you can take a quick peek at the standard format below -

Here's a reminder of the plot summary to keep in mind when you are watching the trailer: Corporate billionaire Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) and working class mechanic Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) are worlds apart. At a crossroads in their lives, they share a hospital room and discover they have two things in common: a desire to spend the time they have left doing everything they ever wanted to do before they “kick the bucket” and an unrealized need to come to terms with who they are. Together they embark on the road trip of a lifetime, becoming friends along the way and learning to live life to the fullest. Each adventure adds another check to their list, all done with insight and humor.

It looks great. Can't wait -- Sara

The Bucket List Website

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman

Jack Nicholson's new movie The Bucket List which co-stars Morgan Freeman and will be directed by Rob Reiner has an official site online. So keep an eye on it for new content which will hopefully be loaded in coming days!

Now that marketing for Jack Nicholson's upcoming movie is kicking in we will be updating the site as regularly as time allows but first up I'll be doing some maintenance to get things ship-shape.

Updated - I'm afraid I have deleted the forum as the spam was overwhelming and I would like to ask that when people find news or anything they would like to share, comment on or ask about that they do so through the comments section here please. Thanks. -- Sara

Preview of The Bucket List

scene from The bucket List

Entertainment Weekly had the following preview:
The Bucket List garnered some early attention this winter, when Jack Nicholson showed up at the Oscars with a shaved dome, having just removed all his hair to play a cancer patient in Rob Reiner's Christmas dramedy.''He's not bald through the whole film, just one section,'' Reiner promises. ''He's got hair.''

The story opens with Nicholson bunking in the hospital with another terminal patient, played by Morgan Freeman; together they write a list of all the things they want to do before they kick the bucket, and then they go do them. ''It's all about 'Where would you like to go, and what would you like to do if you were dying?''' Freeman says. ''Breakfast in Paris? Dinner in Hong Kong? These guys jump out of airplanes, they drive fast cars, they climb the pyramids, they ride motorcycles on the Great Wall of China.''

For Freeman, the project's main attraction was working with Nicholson (''I've been in love with him for years''), and, according to Reiner, Nicholson was eager to work with Freeman in turn. ''They got along unbelievably well,'' Reiner says. ''The last day, we finished the last shot, and Morgan looked at Jack and said, 'This has been a dream come true for me,' and Jack said, 'Likewise.' And then they hugged each other.''
There is an early review of The Bucket List (with only very minor spoilers) at AICN the review is very positive! Just another reason to look forward to the holidays :)
